Thank you SCANOSS. Hello STF.

Back in January 2024 Julian Coccia asked me to collaborate with his company as an external advisor, to raise their open source profile and better connect their activities in the open with the overall business. SCANOSS was also committed to support the Software Transparency Foundation, a key instrument in the Open Source compliance ecosystem. That part time relationship started the following month, in February, at the Software Heritage Symposium and FOSDEM 2024.

As the company’s open source software and open data profiles matured, the focus of my work has shifted gradually from SCANOSS to supporting the Software Transparency Foundation.

Starting December 1ˢᵗ, I will no longer support SCANOSS directly. Instead, I have received a proposal by STF to support those who drive the Foundation, their Members and collaborative projects. This new focus has been fully supported by both, SCANOSS and the STF Leadership team. It represents a natural continuation of my past collaboration, while keeping the independence of the three parties.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank SCANOSS staff, and specially its CTO, Julian Coccia, for their trust and support this past couple of years.Throughout my journey as independent consultant this has been, by far, my longest engagement with a customer, which means a lot to me. I enjoyed the ride and I am looking forward to continue helping SCANOSS, now through STF.

If you are looking to raise the open source profile of your organization while better connecting and aligning it with your commercial activities, to increase the business impact, I might be the right person to help you.
