La Palma Tech Tagoror Is Back

After a year without events, the La Palma Tech Tagoror meetup series is coming back — and so am I.

Meetups in La Palma are back

I run a meetup group called San Miguel de la Palma Tech at my home island, La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.

During 2025, I could not organise any event. Life got in the way. But I have now moved back to the island, and that changes things. The key activity of the group, the La Palma Tech Tagoror, is back. This first edition of the year has one specific goal: to revive the meetups. I know it will not be easy at first. The community needs time to warm up again. But I am determined to keep at it.

What La Palma Tech Tagoror Is

La Palma Tech Tagoror is a series of two-hour meetups. The goal is to connect the local tech community with remote workers and digital nomads who visit the island.

The agenda is simple. We start with introductions — everyone says who they are and what they do. Then we move to short talks. Each talk covers one of three things: something interesting happening with technology on the island, a project or product a participant is working on and wants to share, or a specific technology that is or could be relevant for the island’s development. We close the meetup in a bar or restaurant, where the real conversations often happen.

Previous meetups were not very crowded. But they were extremely interesting. This is a small island, yet there are people here doing remarkable things with technology.

This coming meetup: La Palma Tech Spring 2026

The next meetup is called La Palma Tech Spring 2026. It will take place on Thursday, April 23rd, from 18:00 to 20:00 WEST (UTC+1).

The venue is the Real Sociedad Aridane, known by everyone on the island as Casino Aridane, in Los Llanos de Aridane. It is a cultural and social club that has been organising activities since 1906. Their facilities are right in the main square of the town centre.

Attendance is free of charge, but please register in advance. All the details are on the Meetup event page. Take a moment to sign up to the Meetup application, join the La Palma Tech Lovers group, and register for the event. By joining the group, you will be informed about every coming activity — not just this one.

Join Us and Get Involved

If you happen to be on the island next week, do not hesitate to come to Casino Aridane and join us.

There are also a couple of available slots left for short talks. If you want to present your project or share something interesting that involves a smart use of technology, ping me directly.

What Comes Next

Now that I live on the island, my goal is to organise one of these events every quarter. The local tech scene lacks a meeting point. I hope the Tech Tagoror events will fill that gap — for visitors and locals alike.

Later this year, once the face-to-face events are consolidated, we will think about the online side of things. I regularly get requests from locals living abroad who want to follow what is happening at home. I fully understand it. We will get there.
