Tamiz, a new and great experience

At the beginning of 2022 I started helping Grupo EVM to shape their plans to ship digital products. They are a technology centric group with a strong data profile, specialised in designing and developing bleeding edge projects and services for public administrations, mostly in Spain, as well as EU funded R&D projects. Their HQ are located in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Grupo EVM is lead by Pablo Díaz and Ricardo Tavío.

Grupo EVM is going through an expansion phase and decided to provide a second life to some of the software, projects and services they have created over the last years by evolving them into digital products.

It is always a challenge for a service company to build products, to the point that, in most cases, such journey end up in the creation of a different brand/organization to build, manage and commercialise them. Many would claim that, if possible, this would be step one.

Grupo EVM has reached the successful point where they are right now by focusing on people, optimising for learning. They embraced the challenge of creating digital products as yet-another-learning-experience which is what attracted me the most when Pablo approached me for the very first time about this. He offered me to participate in this journey as external consultant, helping them in some areas where I have extensive experience on but, at the same time, allowing me to play the junior role in those other areas where I have little prior experience.

Tamiz is the first output of such journey.

What is Tamiz for?

Tamiz helps you to efficiently search and analyse tenders published by Spanish public administrations and public companies, so you can take informed decisions about applying to them in less time and with higher confidence.

Tamiz combines Grupo EVM’s experience in the public sector and in managing data structures and sets, with a strong focus on UX. Together with their prior experience in artificial intelligence. The application provides a simple and affordable solution to an activity that consumes lots of time and dedicated effort: finding the right public tender your organization should apply to.

Who is Tamiz for?

Grupo EVM is the first user of Tamiz. The application is especially designed for companies that, like EVM, are not big enough to have people fully dedicated to looking for the right public tenders or that would like to scale up on this activity, keeping efforts and costs under control.

The subject matter experts at EVM, Tamiz users too, feel the pain that the future customers will feel. Dogfooding is, in my view, a step towards success and a guarantee that the team behind the product understand the context, the topic and the market the application is targetting. This is the case for Grupo EVM.

Try out Tamiz

Tamiz has reached the MVP state and now it is time to get real users to test it at bigger scale. So the free trial (beta testing) phase has started. We provide users willing to help us evaluating the application a one month free trial period with no commitment to purchase afterwards. You can cancel your subscription at any time. The application is initially targetting Spain so Spanish is the only language available.

If your organization is willing to explore the public sector market or is already in it, or if you are interested in digital product topics like UX, UI, artificial intelligence, etc. I suggest you to sign in and give Tamiz a try. We highly appreciate your feedback. You can also follow the team through Linkedin.

My involvement and some personal notes

My role in Tamiz have evolved over time. Now that we are approaching the commercialization phase fast and that there is a talented and fully committed team behind Tamiz, my participation as independent consultant is mostly limited to coaching, staying on top of important topics that require alignment among the product team, different internal stakeholders and the leadership team and finally, advancing near-future challenges and providing ways to approach the solutions to them.

The journey so far has been very refreshing, totally worth it. There are many ingredients for Tamiz to be a commercial success, but even if it is not, the learning process has been so fruitful that I would be extremely surprised if Grupo EVM stops its journey towards creating more digital products.

Thank you Pablo for involving me in this journey.
